Gate 48 — The Gate of Depth

Gate 48 in the Spleen center is a drive toward depth and mastery, along with a sensitivity to the feeling of not yet being ready.

Overview

Gate 48 wants to go deeper. It feels that what lies beneath the surface is richer, and it values mastery over quick results. The gate can also carry a worry that its knowledge is not yet deep enough, and this can hold it back from sharing what it already knows. Its growth lies in trusting that practice and time will supply depth, and that sharing a skill in progress is valuable too.

Working with this gate

Keep learning, and let yourself share what you know now. Look for teachers and peers who honor depth. Ask: What do I know more than I think I do? Where could I take a small step toward being seen?

Where Gate 48 sits

Gate 48 lives in the Spleen center and is part of the Logic circuit (Collective group). Its channel partner is Gate 16 (the 16-48 channel of the Wavelength). The gate counts as defined when a planet activates it in your chart; if Gate 16 is active as well, the channel forms and links your Spleen and Throat centers.

The six lines

Every gate has six lines that color how its theme is lived. Treat these as short reflections rather than rules; traditions describe the lines differently, and your whole chart matters more than any single line.

  • Line 1: You build depth step by step and may wait until you feel solid before sharing.
  • Line 2: Your depth is natural, but you may be unaware of how much you offer.
  • Line 3: You discover depth through trial and error, including many experiments that taught you something.
  • Line 4: You deepen your understanding in conversation with others who share your commitment.
  • Line 5: People may expect you to be an expert, and living up to this can be both rewarding and pressured.
  • Line 6: With time, your depth matures into wisdom that others seek out.
