Gate
Gate 50 — The Gate of Shared Values
Gate 50 in the Spleen center is an instinct for the values and rules that keep a group safe and well.
Overview
Gate 50 is the keeper of values. It has an instinct for the rules and agreements that help a family, team or community stay safe and well, and it feels responsible for maintaining them. The gate can be both protective and demanding, and its care sometimes shows up as insistence. When balanced, it provides stability and a sense that everyone is looked after.
Working with this gate
Hold values lightly enough to update them, and communicate them with warmth. Ask: Which values do I truly live by? Which rules am I keeping out of habit rather than conviction?
Where Gate 50 sits
Gate 50 lives in the Spleen center and is part of the Defense circuit (Tribal group). Its channel partner is Gate 27 (the 27-50 channel of Preservation). The gate counts as defined when a planet activates it in your chart; if Gate 27 is active as well, the channel forms and links your Spleen and Sacral centers.
The six lines
Every gate has six lines that color how its theme is lived. Treat these as short reflections rather than rules; traditions describe the lines differently, and your whole chart matters more than any single line.
- Line 1: You think carefully about what you value and prefer to hold your values on a solid base.
- Line 2: You have a natural sense of what is right for a group and a quiet authority about it.
- Line 3: You learn what to protect by making mistakes and seeing what is important.
- Line 4: You pass on your values through relationships, and your family or community is your most important arena.
- Line 5: People look to you to uphold the rules, and the burden of responsibility may feel heavy.
- Line 6: With time you become a wise elder who understands both the importance and limits of rules.
