Gate 23 — The Gate of Explaining Clearly

Gate 23 in the Throat center takes a flash of insight and finds the words to explain it simply.

Overview

Gate 23 is the translator. It takes an insight, often one that arrives suddenly and in an unusual form, and works out how to say it so that others can understand. This is not always quick: there can be a long gap between knowing something and finding the words. The gate does best when it has a patient listener and a clear context. When the words do come, they can be simple and surprising.

Working with this gate

Practice explaining the same idea in different ways, and notice which version lands best. Be patient with the gap between insight and expression. Ask: Who is ready to hear this? What is the simplest true sentence I can say about it?

Where Gate 23 sits

Gate 23 lives in the Throat center and is part of the Knowing circuit (Individual group). Its channel partner is Gate 43 (the 23-43 channel of Structuring). The gate counts as defined when a planet activates it in your chart; if Gate 43 is active as well, the channel forms and links your Throat and Ajna centers.

The six lines

Every gate has six lines that color how its theme is lived. Treat these as short reflections rather than rules; traditions describe the lines differently, and your whole chart matters more than any single line.

• Line 1: You think a great deal before you speak, and what you say is well-founded.
• Line 2: Explanations come naturally when you are relaxed, though you may not know where they come from.
• Line 3: You learn what works by explaining badly a few times and adjusting.
• Line 4: You find the right words by talking with people you trust.
• Line 5: People expect you to explain things clearly, and you may be asked to speak for a group.
• Line 6: Over the years you become a clear and generous communicator, and you can make complex ideas simple.
